Identifying and Reporting Workshop is a two-hour workshop on reporting child abuse and neglect, developed for professionals and available to all Saginaw County residents. For Kid's Sakes Scheduling Form
- Available year-round to professionals who work with children and all Saginaw County residents
- Updates professionals on current Child Protection Laws and their responsibility under the law
- Identifies the difference between clues that indicate child abuse and neglect from clues that indicate typical childhood behavior
- Walks professionals through the reporting process

Baby Basics: Preventable Deaths 
Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Program is a one hour presentation focused on stopping violence against babies, including Shaken Baby Syndrome and preventing deaths due to unsafe sleep practices. It is available to middle and high school students, expectant parents, child care providers and babysitting classes. Students learn the dangers of shaking a baby, as well as, proper infant care. - Awarded the 2000 Children's Trust Fund Public Awareness Award
- No charge for this program in Saginaw County
- 907 teens were educated in 2004
- Students learn coping skills to deal with the natural frustrations of taking care of babies
- Multi-sensory presentations that include sounds, sights and demonstrations
- Demonstrates how to pick up and hold a baby safely

The Birth-5 Program
The Birth-5 Program is offered to all Saginaw County residents with children between birth and age five. The CAN Council works in collaboration with a variety of Saginaw County agencies to provide cutting edge training to professionals known as parent educators. This collaboration ensures these professionals are trained by the most up-to-date local, regional, and national experts and in research based curriculums. If you work with Saginaw County families and children ages birth – 5 and are interested in attending professional development trainings, please contact the Birth-5 Training Specialist at (989) 752-7226.

All Dads are welcome to sign up for 14 weeks of fun, food and learning about ways to become a strong nurturing father. Dinner, transportation, child care and activities are provided. There will be weekly drawings for gift certificates and fathers can win family prizes for attending the whole program.

All couples are welcome to sign up for 10 weeks of fun, food and learning about parenting and marriage. Dinner, transportation, child care and activities are provided. There will be weekly drawings for gift certificates and couples can win family prizes for attending the whole program.
