What We Do

CAN Council's integrated approach to preventing child abuse and neglect has a profound impact on the community. By combining education, awareness, intervention, and advocacy, we strive to create safe environments for children. CAN Council offers expert forensic interviews for survivors of child abuse, assigns advocates to children in the court system due to abuse and neglect, empowers the community through prevention education programs, and provides resources and support directly to families in their neighborhoods.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer is appointed by the Family Court Judge to provide factual, independent and objective information regarding the status of children involved in child protective proceedings.

Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) for kids & teens

CAN Council's Children’s Advocacy Center, a nationally accredited program, serves as a beacon of hope and healing for children across Arenac, Bay, Huron, and Saginaw Counties at no cost to families.

Rolling Family Resource Center

The Rolling Family Resource Center removes accessibility barriers by bringing prevention, concrete support, and services directly to neighborhoods, ultimately for the protection of children. Rolling out in Huron and Saginaw Counties!

Prevention Education

Our Prevention Education program provides classes and training sessions for parents, teachers, students, and caregivers, offering essential knowledge and tools to recognize and prevent child abuse and neglect. Our goal is to empower communities and protect children.
